New build won't start up

I have a gigabyte gaming 7 mother board z170 and after I built everything, the red power button glows, but clicking it does nothing and I tried removing the cmos battery for 30 minutes and no luck

Have you connected the 8 pin power cable to the motherboard?

yes, everything is plugged in and it was running fine yesterday, but it would not boot up on my monitor, then i believe i accidentally hit the cmos switch while it was on.

Try leaving only CPU and CPU fan installed. No other components. See if still no go.

If removing the 8 pin power cable, connecting a case fan to the motherboard and starting the board, does the case fan spin?

no, removed 8 pin from cpu power area and clicked the red button. still no response at all its glowing but nothing will boot

See if a fan connected to it does spin.

Have you tested it? If yes, and it does work, check if the CMOS battery and jumper are in place. If they are... I suggest RMA-ing the motherboard.
