MOBO: MSI h110 Pro-VD

I recently built a pc, and I have noticed a very faint noise coming from the motherboard area.

The best way I can describe it is as the sound of a mechanical HDD when it is trying to read/write to multiple different parts of the disk at once.

The thing is, I only have an SSD and the sound is coming from the MOBO, not the drive.

I've noticed that the sound is only present when the hard drive (SSD) light is flashing rapidly.

The sound is not loud enough to be annoying, but I'm worried that its a sign that the MOBO will fail soon.

your motherboard wont make sounds, since there arent any moving parts. see if you are able to stop fans on the cpu and gpu to spin to see if the sounds is from the fans. also concider looking at the psu fan.
maybe you could upload a a video of what you hear

Hi there Evan_36,

I would totally agree with Dylan Smit. I doubt this is the MOBO.
It is more likely that this sound comes from a fan. It could be coming from the PSU as well, as already mentioned.

My suggestion would be to take out the fans..if you have some extra ones. Also, if you have a dedicated GPU, you can take that out as well.
So, you can leave just your RAM, CPU and PSU. I believe that way it would be easier to locate where the sound comes from.
