In my opinion, no PC from IBUYPOWER is worth the cost.

The processor series is four years old and an update is due out in a few weeks.
The RAM is also going to be outdated (DDR3 vs DDR4)
Graphics card is mainstream, so it should run any game and be playable at low to medium settings.

The other issues you have to worry about are the quality of the components, which companies like IBUYPOWER tend to use to keep their costs down.

It can modern games, but at low memory. Is it worth almost $600, not really. First that AMD CPU is like hitting a dead end. there is no true upgrade path. The only downside to building you own is getting a legit copy of Windows 10 included. You can find some keys for cheap on other forums, or buy directly from Amazon or other retailers.

The first build has a RX 480 which will allow you to play almost any game on the market at max settings fir 60-70 FPS.

This second one can still do the same thing, but the VRAM has been dropped to 4GB. You still get good quality, but you may have to turn some settings down on newer games:

Why do you think the FX 8320 is better than the i3 6100?

If you are basing that off of core count, you are mistaken. The i3-6100 has a better efficient at clock speed per core. This means that the cores are utilizing better than those in AMD. You can research benchmark tests between the AMD and Intel chips.

Tis the season of slim pickings, even the refurbished machines are picked clean. Seems most of the vendors are trying to offload their old FX stock, so plenty of low end FX4300 and even FX8300 builds with GTX 1050Ti out there.

If you don't mind installing a GPU, this plus a GTX 1050ti or 1050 would be a decent gaming platform.

An interesting choice, more or less a console replacement PC. You would have to get an OS for it, unless you were okay with Steam OS, but it is decently equipped for the price.

Laptop alternative. Great price for what it comes with. 256GB SSD and a 940MX GPU.
