is a MSI 970a-g43 doable for an FX-8350?

i already have the motherboard and im looking to ditch my fx 6300 for an 8350. yes i know intel, zen, bla bla bla. i dont have $300+ for a new cpu, mobo, and RAM. anyways i just want to know if it can be done without anything breaking anything. although it is supported in all the supported CPU lists i could find, everyone seems to think its a really bad idea.

also i bought some mosfet heat-sinks, a review on amazon said his mosfets went from 120 degrees to 80 with them. im looking to overclock to 4.5 ghz and if the power phases dont throttle it maybe 4.7.

i know its not ideal but will it work.

I would just oc the 6300 and save up for a new build. your not going to gain much going to the 8350 plus oc the 6300 you will end up with the same result in most games because they don't use all 8 cores on the 8350. the 6300 is only 95 watts to begin with so cooling is also easier and its easier on your psu/motherboard. to oc the 8350 to 4.5 water cooling is necessary to keep it under 60c.

in the end it is simply not worth the $$ at this point for that upgrade.

just wondering how much ram, what video card do you have?

i have 16Gb of crucial balistix sport, and a r9 380 (MSI),
well if overclocking is the way to go, i ordered a hyper 212 a few days ago, i think ive got some good silicon in the 6300 i have because im at 4.2 ghz on the stock cooler @1.35V, it maxes out at 75 when stress testing and 70 or below when gaming.
