Wanted to replace old AT Radeon 5750 video card is in a Asus Motherboard#M4A78LT-M/CG1330A (AM3) DDR3.O .The new video card is XFX RX Radeon AMD 460 4GB GDDR5 PCI express 3.0.Will the newer GDDR5 work ? Thanks for any replies.
Running the card on PCIE 2.0 x16 will not impact performance at all. It is the same speed as PCIE 3.0 x8 which all SLI GPU's run at. You will get full capability in that slot dont worry.
Just check you have an adequate power supply (450w) and the right connectors on it (6 pin PCIE power - though it comes with a 4-6pin adapter).
It will work, however it will be reduced to PCIe 2.0. So it will not get the full speed that it is designed to. Which isn't a bad thing, but your motherboard is in need of an upgrade.
