PC freezing after a few seconds after log in, can still use mouse

I cannot start or use any single program without my PC freezing, I have to use the power button to turn it off and as soon as its back on it freezes again.
Even in safe mode the system still freezes with the mouse able to move, I managed to scan with adwcleaner and found nothing, malware bytes has been unable to complete a scan without freezing.
Even when windows failed to start and I got booted into the trouble shooting mode, while attempting a system restore it froze.
Please help

Specs
6700k no OC
Gtx 1070
Corsair 16 GB of ram (tried changing slots)
Corsair Rmx 650i
Asus gaming mobo
Windows installed on a 240 GB Kingston SSD
2 TB data HDD
500gb SSD for games

Are you using a wired or wireless Keyboard? If your using a wired, have you tried swapping keyboards or jiggling the cable At the keyboard or at the motherboard connector side?

I have had the same issue and have found the wire at the keyboard side was the issue.
