why are console games so expensive compared to PC games?

i was looking for a few AAA games to buy from amazon where i saw that most games have a PC and a console version and the console version is more expensive. the people who create console games know what hardware their games will be running on and it will be easier for them to write the game due to less hardware variety, then why the high price?

Keep in mind the consoles are sold for a loss when they come out. PCs aren't. They get their money by selling games for more and a longer time. This is so they get their money back.

ok but why 10-15$ more on the console version? the console version has poor graphics too

Because people will pay it, prices are dictated by what the market will pay. My guess is consoles are far more popular with children, an adult may often pay more for something there child wants than they would if the item was for them only.
