So I was checking for new updates on my driver and it looks like there was one. I also noticed that whenever I clicked display in amd's radeon software it would crash and last time this happened I fixed it by updating it. That out of the way, I proceeded to run amd's autodetect utility and it had a recommended driver for me. It was installing when 3/4 of the way, my screen flashed a couple of times (normal) but also displayed a gray screen occasionally with some other broken up bits of weird looking pixels (I don't know what to call it) and then eventually my PC restarted and it got stuck on a black screen with a stopped loading circle animation. I waited for 10 mins and nothing occurred so I turned off my PC and turned it back on and now I'm stuck on a plain black screen. Normally my monitors brand name would show first and then a few seconds after I would be on the log in screen but this time none of that showed. I tried pressing f8 to get into to the boot menu seeing if I could recover it to an earlier date but I had no luck. What should I do? I'm only 14 so.I am quite scared I did something terrible.

I have an rx480 from MSI, an i5 6500, and a MSI pcmate motherboard.

PS: I went to device manager before all this happened and then I checked for a new driver for my rx480, windows found it and installed it. Also I did all of this (so the problem listed above occurred today on my second attempt) yesterday and the drivers weren't installed neither was the new AMD radeon setting software. I had a gray screen during the installation process (using the autodetect utitlikty) but none of the weird pixelly stuff that occurred on my second attempt. I got stuck on the gray screen so I restarted and I was able to log in without any changes. So to clarify, on my second attempt (my issue mentioned above) I did all the same things but now it looks like I am just stuck without being ablento log in or anything.

Any help appreciated, I tried to be as detailed as possible.

hi, it could be because you uninstalled your whole display drivers. connect your display to your mobo and it should automatically use your igpu. this happened to me so many times, try to fiddle around with it, it will show up at some point then download your laters drivers from the manufacturers website. good luck!
