I just finished putting together my own PC, but I'm getting no display on my monitor. The computer boots, all the fans are running, etc...

Specs are as follows:
EVGA 750 Watt GQ PSU
i7-6700k
Corsair H80i v2 CPU Water Cooler
ASUS Z170-E Motherboard
1 TB HDD
250 GB SSD
ASUS Optical Drive
G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 2400 MHz 2x8 GB RAM
EVGA GTX 1070 SC

I've tried using DVI on both the GPU and Motherboard but no luck. Tried using one stick of RAM only instead of both, and also disconnecting everything but the CPU, cooler, and one stick of RAM, also no luck. And of course, I am absolutely confident that all my connections were in place and tight.

I then decide to check my CPU and on further inspection, I've noticed some CPU socket pins were bent. https://s23.postimg.org/gzfmwshff/IMG_2635.jpg That shiny dot near the top of the socket are 5 or 6 bent pins with a few at the bottom as well.

So I just wanted to ask, is the problem something to do with hardware (excluding the bent pins; so can this build work despite the bent pins?), or is it actually the bent pins that are preventing me from getting any video output (and thus I need a new motherboard)?

Many Thanks, and Happy Holidays.

Solution
The bent pins are definitely an issue. You'd firstly have to fix them and then further test. You can try straightening them, or RMA-ing the board.

Yeah, that's the plan now - RMA the board... before that though, I'm thinking of buying a motherboard speaker to make sure there aren't any other problems with my build besides the bent pins. Thanks alexoiu

Yeah, so I got a new Mother Board and plugged everything back in and she works wonderfully!

Note to first-time-builders (like me): don't spread the thermal paste on your CPU with your cooler while the CPU is still in the socket.
