Hello. I just got a drone, which requires a sd card. So I wanted before using my sd card on the drone to back up my pictures, but when I put the sd card into the laptop, it won't work. Why is it happening. My laptop is an ASUS X550ZE, with Windows 10

Solution
It may simply be that Windows notifications pop-ups aren't functioning properly, happened on my PC one day, only with memory cards though, external hard drives/pen drives weren't affected. However, I was still able to see the SD card's drive letter, click on it, and see the card's contents in Windows Explorer.

Have you checked for a new drive letter in Windows Explorer/My Computer after inserting the SD card (wait up to 20 seconds after insertion)?

Hi

First is it only one sd card that has problems?
Did it work recently in your laptop?

There are various generations of sd cards covering higher capacities which may not work in older sd card readers

Laptop Sd card readers often need a device driver to work

Try sd card in another device,
try another sd card in your laptop?

What made and model and capacity is the problem SD card?

Cheap or fake sd cards may fail unpredictably

Any windows error message?

Regards
Mike Barnes

Well, the SD Card is perfect, it's not faulty. I tried using my Tablet's SD Card, but no luck. I know it worked in the laptop, because I once transferred music onto it. I tried using it in another laptop, and it worked.

I recently got a drone with a MicroSD to USB adapter which was included with it, but it didn't work. Well, long time ago, I got a SD Card with a Adapter so I can use a MicroSD Card with a SD Card reader. The Card's capacity is 1GB, but I don't remeber the card's model, but it was not bought from internet for almost free.

The computer acts like nothing was inserted into the SD Card Slot. But the Adapter I always use is not faulty. I tried the SD Card in my phone and it worked. The Device Manager detects it in SD Host Adapter section as SDA Standart Compilant SD Host Controller.

oh, now for some random reason it works! YAY! Also thank's for the help, but I want to know one other thing. It's about my drone. The drone brand name is toruk as I guess. I tried using the camera in the drone, but it won't record or store any screenshots onto the micro sd card.

Drone? Can't help you there - I'm strictly a computer hardware/software guru.
I suggest you consult the drone's user manual, or start a new thread.

It's no good marking this thread "Solved", then you keep posting new questions on it!
