I am thinking of wiring of my home with Cat 6 UTP cable. Will this cable give 10 Gbps speed? The cable length will be about 15 metres (49 feet) long for all connections to my router. Cat 6A cable is kinda hard to get where I live.

Solution
1. You need Cat6a

2. You also need 10G devices ($$$) at the endpoints.
Just having the cable is of no use if your router and LAN port on your PC is only 1GB.

3. That 10G speed would only be when talking to other systems in the same theoretical LAN. You obviously don't get that talking to the outside world.

This is one of those questions is does it work or is it certified to work. Very technically any cable that you can connect to a special meter that passes all the tests for 10g traffic is certified no matter what it says on the outside.

What is commonly known is almost all cat6 cable up to 50 meters will pass the test but the standard does not actually have the 50meter number.

The much harder problem now days is getting actual certified cable of any kind. You will find all kinds of copper clad aluminum cable on amazon and the standard very clearly says it must be pure copper to be certified. The same for all the flat cable they sell with conductor sizes that are below the minimum allowed by the standards. Amazon does not care that people are selling fake cable....then again it works for many people because they are using very short cables.

If you buy quality cat6 cable it should work in a home installation. Be sure the cable is 100% copper and has wire gauge 22-24
