http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883114102 I've already upgraded the gpu (geforce gt 730 ddr5), psu (have 350 watt but will install 600 watt I have, and ddr3 RAM going to buy another 2x1 gb RAM. I'm simply looking to play/stream League Of Legends on Twitch. Right now it runs alright, except for when I experience AOE (can lag and glitch a small amount) I need a good quad core cpu for this so that I can play League Of Legends/stream it without having any lag and glitches. I'm willing to spend around 50 r so and have looked at some Phenoms and athlons. It must be 95watts not 125watts. thanks

Bump (if this works that is lol)

Definitely upgrade the PSU (even if you weren't doing any other upgrades. eMachines has a history or using bad/cheapo/part eating power supplies.)

As to the CPU... Phenom II X4 955, 965, or 975 would be ideal, IF you keep the same RAM and MoBo. Problem is what will the MoBo support? eMachines isn't exactly known for supporting a lot of options that aren't low budget, or updating BIOSes to allow higher end CPUs to be used. If you can judge support by release date, it should support a 955 or 965. I can't guarantee but a 975 might also be supported.

Please note this is a bit of a educated guess and the BIOS might not support these CPUs, which can only be purchased used, and if lucky, as New Old Stock.

Thanks a lot for your help :) Which of those processors would be the best as far as specs? I need the best performance I can get out of a cpu for this. Also, if mobo doesn't support cpu, I wouldn't mind purchasing a motherboard that would for sure support it. Thanks a lot for the help

First, I need to apologize as the models I listed prior are 125w TDP models in which I'd aim for the 975BE or the 965BE or even the 955BE, (in that order.) I have in my backup rig the 955BE, overclocked to 3.7GHz with a Gigabyte GA-790FXTA-UD5 MoBo which could support some of the Phenom X6 CPUs.

The Phenom II series that are 95watt TDP are as follows:
CPU SPEED CORES TDP
AMD Phenom II X4 B99 3.3GHz 4 95W
AMD Phenom II X4 840 3.2GHz 4 95W
AMD Phenom II X4 960T Black 3.0GHz 4 95W

The list is also in order of what I'd seek out first.

Here's some prices on some of these via PCPartPicker.com
https://pcpartpicker.com/products/cpu/#s=2&xcx=0&sort=d2&page=1&T=90,126&X=100,469420

For those prices, if you can come up with about $100-$150 more, (~$300 USD total) You can rock an i3-6100 or perhaps an i5-6500 with a new MoBo and 8GB of RAM... reusing the rest of your parts (as long as your storage media is SATA) AND the PSU is a good model and brand. It would outperform these old CPUs. considerably.
