Hi!
So i got a wee problem. I have an "ASRock G31M-S rev G/A 1.10" and I bought a Xeon E5472 (modded of course). Now my bios was v1.8 and the CPU didn't work. Updated it to the latest v P2.10 and yet again, doesn't start. All the fans are spinning, it just isn't giving the familiar beep when booting, also the keyboard and mouse don't light up. I put back the Pentium E5700 and voila, works. Now I'm getting seriously confused with what revision the MBO is, some xeon microcodes I gotta put in.. I say wha? The FSB is 1600 so it should be compatible, the cpu is working, I've seen it in another PC.
So I need your help Internet, advise me.

The MBO specs from Speccy:
Manufacturer - ASRock
Model - G31M-S (CPUSocket)
Chipset Vendor - Intel
Chipset Model - P35/G33/G31
Chipset Revision - 10
Southbridge Vendor - Intel
Southbridge Model - 82801GB (ICH7/R)
Southbridge Revision - A1
BIOS:
Brand - American Megatrends Inc.
Version - P2.10
Date - 16.5.2012.

Is it even compatible? The Xeon is E5472 SLANR or C0 stepping, I think.
Help.

I had before some Intel MBO that booted a X5460 and also didn't have xeons listed in the cpu support list. I think it should boot, I'm just missing something.

The manual is as clear as mud on that jumper; what have you set it to?? Multiple different combos, yet it only explains/show one.
