I am building a new small itx pc using a Intel 600p M2 SSD drive in a Asus Z170i pro gaming motherboard. I cannot see the drive to install windows 10 to when I use the USB image booting method. I've read the forum and tried all the permutations from reading the forums in the bios to disable CSM to try and get the M2 drive to be visible when windows installation prompts to install which drive to install windows 2. I have added a ssd sata drive to install windows to try and do the clone method but windows cannot see the M2 drive in my computer or disk management. I can however see this in device manager but you cant use this. I've can't try the idea of the onboard device configuration to change the settings between the M2 and sata express mode configuration because the Bios does not give me the option to see this field.

Any help would be appreciated.

Solution
You may want to read through this post. I would however like to stress that you have only your NVMe SSD as the only form of storage device prior to installing OS and having all the other device's connected.

Within BIOS have you made sure hyper kit mode is disabled?
