Looking to upgrade my CPU

So right now I have and 750 TI and a A8-5500 CPU, and I feel the CPU starting to become a little bad, I am wondering what the best upgrade would be. I was thinking the A10-5800K, seeing as that is what HP says that is a compatible CPU. I am wondering how much more bang that processor would give me, and whether there is a better one. If you recommend me one, the CPU socket is FM2.
Thanks,

Yes the A10-6800k should need additional cooling if overclocked.... it's a 100 Watt so it's not as hot as 125 Watters but overclocking is what makes any CPU/APU run hot. And if it wasn't included in HP list of compatible CPU/APU, it may need a BIOS update before it can run so be aware that if it doesn't post right away, you'll have to replace the previous APU to update the BIOS, or you may want to update it before the 6800k arrives.

The A10-5800k is 16% faster than the A8-5500 but the faster of the FM2+ APU/CPU is the AMD PRO A10-8850B though it's locked and not overclockable so the best one you could get is the A10-7890K (unlocked) which is 45% faster than the A8-5500 and 24% faster than the A10-5800k.

Check the list of compatible APU/CPU for your motherboard if you want something more inexpensive. The number in column C is the Benchmark results in the Passmark CPU mark list of tested CPUs/APUs... and a higher CPU mark is better and for those that don't include a price you can look them up at your favorite online store.

BTW you probably mean FM2+ right? because socket FM2 is obsolete and may not support latest FM2+ APUs or CPUs.

I know that my motherboard is pretty old, it isn't the greatest one. It's a Jasmine something. So FM2+ is new, i highly doubt that the motherboard supports it.

OK, your FM2 motherboard can only use FM2 APU/CPU... FM2+ APUs have two extra pins so they don't fit in the FM2 socket.
The top APUs for FM2 socket are the:

AMD A10-6790K APU 4656 unlocked $137.42
AMD A10-6800B APU 4990 locked NA
AMD A10-6800K APU 4896 unlocked $103.20

Had to find FM2 APUs for a different brand mobo as HP doesn't seem to provide a support list for the the HP Jasmine motherboard.
These are FM2 APUs: http://www.gigabyte.us/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=4374
Same FM2 list here: http://www.cpu-world.com/Sockets/Socket_FM2.html

You can see ere how fast any FM2 APU is

So the google list is only FM2, not FM2+, because I think I will go for the top one. Do you have an idea how much better it might run CSGO, or Overwatch?

Which one.. 6800B or 6800k? because you can overclock the k edition and make it run faster than the 6800B

AMD A10-6800B APU 4990 locked NA
AMD A10-6800K APU 4896 unlocked $103.20

The A10-6800B would run 25% faster than your A8-5500 so I'd estimate that would improve FPS in about the same percentage depending on your GPU and how well APU and GPU play together. And because not all games have the same system requirements some can run better than others.

AMD A8-5500 APU 3985
AMD A10-6790K APU 4656 17%+
AMD A10-6800B APU 4990 25% +
AMD A10-6800K APU 4896 23% +

So you think either the A10-6800B, if I am not looking towards Overclocking the K. But if I did get the K, I could Overclock it, and it proceed to be better. And all should work with the MB, HP was just listing a few, not all. If I get the K, and overclock it, would I have to get a new CPU cooler? It's just a standard HP CPU cooler.
