I got a new i5 4690k. haven't overclocked it and just using stock fan. The cpu is hitting up to 98c while playing battlefield 1 and making a loud noise. I have a mini itx case is that the reason for the overheating? If anyone could tell me the reason for this, that would be very helpful. I'm also using msi afterburner for my bench marking. If you want to see the rest of my build here is a link: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/bobbutt2/saved/ykNqsY

Solution
ok so this is a real problem. you need to buy a cooler today. www.coolermaster.com buy a cooler master 212 eve. the thermal limit is 72C. but yes It could be because of your case but the intel stock coolers for i5s is useless. so the major problem is coming from your cooler

I just fixed it, turns out there were cables in the way of the fan. It runs at 50c at 60 percent load. Do I still need a new cooler or is this fine. I just plan on gaming.
