Will it be easier if I just install a new windows7 OS while my old mobo is connected and then connect my new mobo?

im upgrading from a asrock extreme3 to a gigbyte GA-170x mobo
I'm just trying to do a clean install before installing my new mobo. Will not install my old mobos drivers

A clean install before changing the hardware does nothing. It is exactly the same as not doing it at all.
