Ok so i currently have a lenovo prebuilt pc that i got last Christmas. I recently decided that i was going to build a new pc, building it as in buying all new parts except for my ssd and hdd, i am trying to use them in my new build. When i got my pc it already had the os downloaded onto my ssd. I am trying to use the ssd in my new build for the Operating system, but currently i have all of the 250gb used up. I just dont know what to do. How do i completely clear the ssd, including the drivers that were preinstalled before i bought the pc and the operating system. Is it possible? I generally dont know what to do. Do i just clear everything except the Operating System and the drivers, and will i be able to use it in my new build? If anyone can help me and explain how i can use my current SSD with my Operating system and things on it for my new computer, I would truly appreciate it...

Solution
Go all the way to the point where you're ready to install Windows, then when you're at the point where it asks you where to install you have the option to wipe the drive clean. Do that, including all partitions, then install to the empty drive.

You will need to set USB drive with Windows on to top of boot list to stop your new system trying to boot from the old drive.

So i can put my ssd into my new build as it is? And when i am in the process of setting up my new operating system it will let me clear my entire ssd? and put my usb on the top of the boot list? is this in the bios or what. If you dont mind elaborating, i am really new to this, it would be very helpful

Yes you have it all right. Just pop it in as it is.

And yes in BIOS you have a priority list of what drive to boot from. Put the USB above the SSD, that's all. Alternatively, just press F12 on power up to access boot menu and choose the USB with Windows on. Then just wipe the drive in Windows installer and install. Is that simple.

If you have any issues, just post here and you'll get all the help you need :)
