Hey, coming off the back of another question when I found out my motherboard doesn't actually have high enough wattage to run the 9590, as it needs 220 but my motherboard only supports up to 125. Thought i'd ask what people would think would be the best 125W CPU for AM3+ to replace it with.

Been looking at the 8350 but a lot of people were saying that the 9590 was just an OCed version of the 8350. So i'm a little confused as according to sites the 8350 is only 125W but the 9590 is 220W. So them being the same CPU but using less wattage would mean I could in theory bring the 9590 down to the 8350 settings and watt usage, I think.

If anyone can clear up exactly what the situation between the two of them is and suggest a decent replacement to the 9590. It would be very much appriciated.

Edit: Also I don't intend on OCing the CPU never been interesting in doing it and much prefer just running the CPUs at factory defaults.

Solution
Multiplier of 20x and starting voltage of 1.325 should give you easy 4 GHz and up to 125 W TDP. Should also be able to push 4.2GHz with up to 1.4v if CPU cooler is any good.
Well, 9590 is not exactly same as OCed 83xx series but when 8350/70 is OCed to same frequency results are same. At 5GHz, 8350 will push into 200W values easily.
What is your current MB ?

If you already have 9590 but you are not interested in OCing 8350/70 for instance, you can just down-clock it to those speeds to get same results without changing processor. It would run at lower voltages and take less power on the par with next lower processors.

Current motherboard is ASUS 970 PRO GAMING/AURA AMD Socket AM3+, which can only take 125W. If I was to underclock the 9590 what settings would i need to alter, and to what exact amount on them, to take it down to the 8350 125W setting?
