I built this computer about a year ago, however i appear to be getting frequent disk write errors and believe hard drive may be failing, on top of this the HDD seems to be relatively slow compared to options available now.

Right now i am looking into seagates Firecuda SSHD 2tb, and would their be any issues transfering data from the old HDD to the new if i were to purchase? Any suggestions appreciated

Solution

Assuming the old drive can be read fully and it has not gone too far down the fail road, there should be no real issue in a migration from the old drive to the new one.

Personally, I'm not a real fan of the SSHD concept, but they do work.
