RAM - How does it work?

Solution
RAM mixing is sometimes unreliable. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It depends whether the motherboard wants to take it.
I personally would advice you to sell the 8GB and get a 16GB. However, if you do take the risk and decide to just add another 8GB of RAM, here are some tips.

1. Make sure both sticks of RAM has the same voltage and timings.
2. When mixing RAM of difference speeds, say a 1600MHz and a 2400MHz stick, your computer will automatically underclock the faster one, bring both sticks to 1600MHz.
