I recently just built my first pc with the fowling specs:

AMD X4 880K
Asus stir gtx 950
Asus a68hm-plus
HyperX fury 1x8gb 1600mhz
1tb WD had
Corsair VS450
Bit denies Nova

So well I am in a bit of a predicament as well it won't output anything onto my monitor aswell. All that happens are that the fans spin up on the CPU cooler and the case fan and the fans on the 950 spin for a little bit and then go of. When it is turned on I also get an orange light in the bottom left hand side of the motherboard and I think it is the HDD activity light on my case that blinks red just about twice. The only other thing that happens is 2 beep codes that are one short one when the fans get to full speed and then a higher pitched one 5-6 seconds later.

Have you got any ideas on how to fix it?

If you do I would greatly appreciate it if you can please reply.

Many many thanks

If you had a natively supported processor (requiring only BIOS version 0201), then you could install that processor, boot the system and upgrade the BIOS yourself. Without the processor, there's nothing you can do yourself. Take it to the shop and have them take a look at it.

Check the box the motherboard came in to see if there is a BIOS version sticker on it. If there is and it's earlier than 0901, that is likely the issue. Per that motherboard's CPU Support List, that processor requires BIOS version 0901 or later to be fully compatible.

Other things to check:

1) Is your RAM module seated correctly and the locking clips fully engaged?
2) Is your display connected to one of the GPU outputs and not the motherboard output?

It *MAY* be on the box. There's no telling where it might be. It's probably a small sticker with just the four digit BIOS version printed on it, if it's there at all. Not every manufacturer does it. If it's there, it would show one of the following codes:

0201
0210
0503
0704
0803
0901
1503

Not if you're not getting a display. Check everything. Outside of the box, inside of the box, the driver CD sleeve, every page of the manual. Check everything for one of the above codes. Otherwise, you next step is to test the motherboard with a natively supported processor (any processor on the CPU list that shows a BIOS version of 0201). If you have one of those processors or can borrow one from a friend, that would be your next step. Otherwise, you will probably need to take it to a shop.

I'm not saying that the BIOS is the problem. I'm just saying it might be the problem. Are you sure all your connections are correct and secure? Did you remember to use motherboard stand-offs when you installed your motherboard into the case? Is the power supply switch on? Have you tried reseating the graphics card? Do you have the RAM installed in Slot 1 and not Slot 2?

It could be any number of things. BIOS was just the first thing to come to mind.

I'm afraid I believe I have nearly done everything. I might unplug and remove everything and try and build it again and see if that make a difference. If not I will probably take it into one of those pc repair shops to see if they can do anything. However if they cannot I will probably buy another motherboard. But do you know if I will be able to return it to amazon if I have snapped of some of those sharp metal prongs on the IO shield. If not could I possibly buy a replacement IO shield. Many thanks anyway. Do you know of any other better motherboards that can run the X4 880k on any bios installed?

At this point, I would agree with you in that you should probably take it to a repair shop and have them double check everything you've done. If they don't find anything wrong, then I'd ask them if they could check the BIOS version and possibly test it with a spare processor they may have available. If they're willing to test it and it boots up, ask them to flash the latest BIOS onto it and check your processor again. If it comes back as a faulty motherboard, then you should not have any issues returning it to Amazon (even with the modded I/O shield).

Brilliant thank you so much. I am going to take it into a shop tomorrow to see what I can do. Would I be able to flash the BIOS myself and if so how? Anyway many thanks you have really helped!!
