Test Toshiba drive in HP Laptop

I'm copying a large number of files to a Seagate usb 3.0 backup drive.
I'm only getting less than 1mb/sec speed. So I want to test my hard drive.
It's a Toshiba drive. Since it came in the HP laptop I don't know what software to use to test it. It is plugged into a 3.0 port.

There's no specific software you need to use.
You can use Seagate's own tool - http://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/seatools/
