What's the best way to move everything except for my OS to my new Hard Drive?

I got a new 1TB Western Digital blue to add to my build, right now I have a 500 GB Toshiba DT01ACA050. I want to keep my OS on my Toshiba and move everything else to my WD one. The only way I see the WD is in device manager, disk management, or speccy. How would I go about doing this? I am not familiar with hard drives.

OK...Steam games CAN be moved.

Create a new folder on the new drive.
Call it MyGames or something.
On your current C drive, locate the SteamApps folder.
Copy/Paste that to the folder you created.
You'll end up with something like /MyGames/SteamApps/lots of otherstuff

In the Steam client, designate that new folder MyGames as an install location.
Thusly:

In the steam client:
Steam
Settings
Downloads
Steam Library Folders
Add library folder

Delete that SteamApps folder from the current C drive.

Done.

"move everything except for my OS"
Define 'everything'.

Applications, no can do.
Doc/music/video...no problem.

Some small ones sure

But all your shortcuts will be screwed up.
Other applications will simply fail to run. "Somethingsomething.dll not found", or other errors.

When an application is installed, there are dozens, sometimes thousands or entries made in the Registry and elsewhere.
These all point to somewhere on the C drive. Copy/paste those programs to the other drive (the new D drive) and all that gets seriously confused.

Now...your current drive is 500GB. Applications don't really take up a lot of space by themselves.
I'd wager that other things on your C drive are the space culprit, and not your programs.

But the only real way to 'move' those programs is to Uninstall, and then Reinstall on the location you choose. Most programs give you the option os selecting where. Some few don't.

And for future reference, read these. Written for smaller SSD's but the concept is the same.
