Is the CRYORIG H7 just not sufficient at cooling an overclocked 4790K? I'm running @ 4.6GHz w/ 4.8GHz Turbo Boost. The stability test OCCT runs at 4.6GHz across 4 cores. 4.6GHz ring/uncore w/ AUTO voltage. I don't think the Turbo Boost has anything to do with the high temps.
Temps are fine just playing Battlefield 1, but running OCCT makes temps rise too far. I've been tweaking the voltage down from 1.265V to 1.245V but temps still reach 90C on stability testing. Should I continue to find the lowest voltage it will run?
It's not case airflow as I have my motherboard (GIGABYTE Z97X-Gaming 7) just laying on a table with no case. I notice power consumption rises from an initial ~110W up to ~125W+, if it stayed at 110W, temps would be fine; but when the power consumption goes up, temps go up. Are my voltages too high?
