As the title says, I get 1 ~ 4 FPS while I'm actually in the game, but as soon as I alt tab out, it shoots right back up to 60+.

I know this because I have an FPS counter and I keep my game windowed. It goes perfectly smooth.

I'm having this issue in all games as well. GTA5, Black Desert Online, L4D2, Stardew valley... Stardew valley is doing it to me... >>"

But as soon as I alt tab out everything goes back to running normally.

Ran several virus checkers, reinstalled gfx drivers, checked all my connections. Any ideas?

Edit : Solution found

Uninstall "Geforce Experience"

... piece of crap experience more like lol.

Hey, I think I found the problem!

It was the freakin "Geforce Experience".

I just uninstalled it, and my game runs like butter.

I guess that the geforce overlay or graphic option overides were causing me issues??

Hi

What's your system specs?

V.unusual problem. When did this start happening and has the system been through any os upgrades or had any tweak programs installed since?

Not sure what graphics card you got. But have you gone through the 3d management section of the control panel and try a different power plans/single monitor performance setting?

Resolutions in and out of gaming is the same?

Hey boju, thanks for the response. I figure I should do a minor update. I screwed with my in game settings and switched resolution like 5 times, and my game went back to normal fps. However, after I shut down the game, it goes back to 1~4 fps again. Then I have to redo said solution. At least I have a temporary work around. Annoying as all sin though.

This is my PC : http://www.overclock.net/lists/display/view/id/4565320

GPU : 2x GTX 690s (I run quad sli)
RAM : 4x 4GB Corsair Dominator
CPU : Intel i7 3930k

It all started yesterday. I'm not sure if something updated when I shut my pc off or what.

My resolutions are the same in and out of game, I play the vast majority of my games windowed. I have 3 monitors so I like to click outside of them and check the internet from time to time.

I haven't gone through the 3d management. I'll try that and see if that helps.

Yea no experience of quad gpus and 3 monitors for me. Only thing i can suggest is possibly doing a restore when everything was good, be it Microsoft or try an older nvidia driver and perhaps try a single 690. Sorry cant help much, just simple suggestions.
