Fresh install not working

Yes i had windows 10, got a new hdd and cloned my os to in then when i went to boot it refused to booy and even the old drive wouldnt boot so i grabbed an old windows 8 disc and formatted both drives and removed all partitions but the install gets to 4% and crashes with a page fault in non paged area.... (pc was working perfect before the clone)

You should be able to download the Windows 10 install and with Microsoft's media creation tool(also downloadable), you can create either a bootable Windows 10 install DVD or USB flash drive. You can then do a clean install of Win10. You will NOT need your 8.1 disk or product key. When it asks for a product key, say that you don't have one, and continue with the installation. Windows will take care of the activation automatically.
