Hey Guys,

Im new to pc building. I built this pc about 6 months ago. No problems until now. I have experienced a couple of system lock ups and crashes to desktop while playing games with no error messages. Today the system locked up completely but it did not blue screen. I had to do press the reset button to restart the pc. It restarted and everything is back to normal.

I have noticed it says Kernel Power 41 in event viewer and it shows up on event viewer a couple of times. I have a pretty good power supply from a reputable brand, so ive been told. So its a little difficult to believe it might be faulty.

Lastly, the power supply makes a buzzing electrical sound. Something you might hear in a power plant... only when the computer is off but the rocker is still on. When the computer is on the psu does not make any electrical noise.

So might the PSU be faulty? I dont know if i might be missing something or if it is as simple as replacing it...

Thanks!

Hey! thanks for the reply. Do you know how i could know for sure... anything i could test? it only recently started.
The system seems to run stable the rest of the time.. like watching videos, movies etc...
Also if the psu is faulty could it potentially kill any of my other components?

Really not sure what to think!

Thanks again!
