How many MHz would I be able to overclock my CPU more?

I have a Dell Latitude E4310 with an Intel i5 M 540 and I'm curious how much I can overclock it (it's already pre-overclocked to around 2.85 Ghz). I installed 2x4 GB of RAM yesterday and whenever I play games, or even just flash games, it goes like 2.75 GHz and on higher quality games 2.80, and on rare occasions even higher. Well I was wondering: "maybe a should overclock it?" I mean, my dad gave me a laptop cooling thing that you put your laptop on and it cools it with fans. It works pretty good too. What I'm worried about is going to school to use it and all of a sudden when we have free time or something like that it fries up. Maybe I can get a portable fan to bring with me? Even if I can do that though, I want at least a 90% chance that it won't fry up, as I'm unemployed and only make money from doing chores.

Solution
You wont be overclocking. Its an oem laptop with limited cooling capabilities and a locked bios. What you are seeing is turbo frequency the cpu can go upto 3.07Ghz if it senses the right conditions.
