Hey guys I'm having a problem with my new configuration.

I bought an i7 3770k as a replacement for my 2600k that I had on an Asrock z77 pro4, with 16gb of ram (8x2).

Before installing the new CPU, everything was working fine.

After installing the new CPU I'm having this two problems:

The first one is that only 2 of the 4 ram slots "work" 1-2-3-4 if I put one single ram stick in 4, it works, same with 3. If I put it in 2 or 1 it doesn't work and I get 4 quick beeps and a 55 error code. I tried with both ram sticks and still the same so the ram works fine, I even tried with other ram sticks that I have.

The other problem is, if I put both of my ram sticks in slots 3 and 4, it only detects one, so it only detects 8gb of ram. Both slots work when there's only one stick connected to the mobo but when I put the two of them one doesn't, so the mobo only detects one.

The Bios is updated (2.90) and I have cleared removed the cmos battery.

Thank you for your time and please excuse my English

Hi Alexoiu and thank you for your answer.

I already did, and found nothing wrong. Don't ask me why but after cleaning the cpu with alcohol it just works.
