Hi

So, I've currently got an I7-4770K OC @4.3Ghz I've bought and AMD FX-9590; I've been reading lots of reviews and comparisons on the internet and people are saying it's not very good. So before I get a new motherboard, PSU and Water Cooling. Is it worth it?

My opnion: I'm not exactly a CPU expert but why are people saying it's not as good when it has 8 physical cores and runs at 5Ghz turbo? I mean that sounds pretty fast to me. What do you guys think and what do you think I should do?

Solution
Because the Intel cores has a better performance to core ratio. AMD (before Ryzen) only cared about core count. I guess it worked, because many people see "16 cores?!?!!?" I have to spend money on this. But the truth is, that FM3+ PGA socket is a dead end no upgrade path.

With that said, you have a i7-4770 which is a beast in itself. I would keep it and wait until Ryzen and Kaby Lake has some official numbers. However, that i7 should still last a few years.

Seems fair, just when it comes down to gaming specifically Battlefield 1 my game lags so much I don't know why. I have GTX 970 4GB FTW SLI and both of them don't max out when running SLI. Why is this? I only looked into this as I thought my CPU wasn't strong enough to pass enough information to both the cards.

BF1 is currently very hard on cpus due to poor optimization(the beta ran better than the release version). Heard rumors of a patch but it's been awhile and have yet to see one.

So this is why my GPUs are only hovering around 50% each? As Battlefield 1 has poor optimisation

Well, for some reason BF1 is strangely CPU intensive. Even with that i7, it should be able to handle it. Especially considered the requirements for the game. You are not only one who has issue with it. Hopefully patches are being created. I stayed away from it. Is that the only game?

Battlefield 1 is the only game that my PC struggles to run. Most other games I can run Ultra and never have an FPS issues at all

Well, it's the game itself, just like bignastyid said. Again, you are not the only one. I'm sure you can google "Battlefiled 1 CPU issues" and you will see tons of threads and articles about it. Hopefully the devs are aware of, but it's really all about the money (coming from an ex-gaming journalist). Seems like the same issue that happen with Battlefield 4.
