Hello, so I have a MSI Z97 PC Mate and recently switched from a Pentium G3258 to an i5-4590. I had the G3258 overclocked to 4.0 GHz but set it back to 3.2 GHz before the swap. Now my 4590 is stuck at 3.2 GHz. Is there a way to completely reset the overclock or turn it off? I tried setting the frequency to 3.3 GHZ but it glitched leading to a crash, plus that would restrict the 3.7 GHz turbo boost. So is there a way to turn off or reset the CPU settings and the overclock. Thanks in advanced!

Will it possibly hurt my PC by resetting the BIOS? Also, will I have to reinstall drivers?

MERGED QUESTION
Question from Fyeren : "Swapped CPU's, new one is stuck at the same frequency as the old one."

In your BIOS, have you tried "Restore Defaults" (Page 3-16 in your Mobo manual)?

No, it will just reset the bios to the default out of box settings. You might have to re-apply XMP settings for your memory if you used an XMP profile.

Should not affect any drivers.
