Okay, So for Christmas I got my brother a new graphics card, psu, and ram. Went to install the parts like normal, grounded myself like I've always done (touching a door handle and the case). However after I installed the parts correctly (I doubled checked they were after the first time it didn't work), connected it up to the screen and booted the PC the screen just said no signal.
To start with I thought I hadn't plugged something in right so I checked that, nothing.
My next thought was it was a dodgy cable or monitor since it did something similar to this a few days ago but after an hour of waiting it was fine. So I changed the monitor and cable, twice, to two different monitor, both with VGA and HDMI and both didn't work.
I then tried:
- Removing the graphics card and trying onboard graphics - didn't work
- Installing the Old graphics card - didn't work
- Installing the components one at a time and testing to see if it would work - didn't work
- tried installing it with just the new psu and nothing else - didn't work
- tried installing it with just the new gfx card and nothing else - didn't work
- tried installing it with just the new RAM card and nothing else - didn't work
- installed all of these components into my computer to see if they worked -RAM, PSU and GFX card
- Tried removing the CMOS battery and installing it again
- tried swapping out the HDD with another WD black 500gb HDD - didn't work

Things I did with all the old parts installed:
- tried placing all the old components back into the pc (both all together & one at a time) - didn't work
- tried swapping out the CPU ( i had a spare one i3 3220 from my old pc) - didn't work
- tried swapping out the mobo for a spare I had - didn't work
- tried using two screen with the old parts to see if it was displaying it on another screen - didn't work
- Tried removing the CMOS battery and installing it again

Other Points:
- Both the keyboard and and mouse don't light up at all when the PC if booted up.
- Fans and Power button LED are on
- Plugged speakers and headphones into the pc to see if windows had booted and hear the windows startup sound but there was nothing

New PC parts:
- Corsair RM 650
- Corsair Vengeance 8gb 1600mhz (2 4gb sticks)
- Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX 970 G1 gaming

Old PC:
- i3 3220
- Corsair CX 430
- Hyper X 4gb 1600mhz
- WD Black 500gb HDD
- gigabyte GA H61m-s1
- ASUS gtx 650 2gb

Spare parts:
- i3 3220
- ASUS P8h61-MX
- WD Black 500gb HDD

"- installed all of these components into my computer to see if they worked -RAM, PSU and GFX card"

So did they work? If yes, then you may have pretty much isolated the problem to the motherboard, however - when you tried the older motherboard it also did not work. Could that be due to incompatibility with the vengeance RAM? Try using the P8H61 motherboard with the Hyper X RAM and the rest of your new parts and see if it makes a difference.

Yeh sorry meant to say they worked. I've tried both the old mobo and the spare one with the vengeance ram with the old components since I knew they all worked with the motherboards (the spare mobo used to have all those parts when it was my pc). I'll try the hyper x ram with the new stuff and get back to ya

Tried it with the p8h61 mobo, new parts but old ram and it worked! Tried it with just a single stick of the new ram and it booted up. However when I try using the second ram slot with either both corsair sticks or the 2 sticks of hyper X ram we have it doesn't work.
I don't get why though because I used to use the p8h61 with the two sticks of corsair ram and it worked fine for two years..
