Hi great people of tomshardware. I am having a hard time figuring out a problem with my graphics driver. The error says graphics driver kernel stopped responding and has recovered. It is mostly while watching videos or basic browser usage. It does not happen while i am inside a game. ( I mostly just play dota 2)

Here are the things I have tried so far with no success.

-Reinstalled windows operating system
-Updated graphic drivers to the latest. (also tried some random older ones)
-Updated chipset drivers on motherboard
-Updated Bios
-Set tdrdelay on graphics driver in regedit to 8 seconds.
-Close all background programs and turn windows settings to performance
-Installed gpu temp monitor (No overheating that i can see)

I have kind of run out of ideas and not sure what there is left to do. Im not sure how to zero in on what is causing the graphics driver to fail. If anyone else has experience with this and any ideas I would love to hear them! Thanks in advance.

IT IS VERY VERY COMMON on Radeon Graphic cards... it happends to me too when i used to purchase AMD cause of budget builds... It is not a rare issue, and its very annoying i know your pain... Unfortunately for you i have never come to a solution before changing my GPU for upgrading reasons...
My only Advice is to try to change from PCI-E Slot to another PCI-E Slot if you have an empty one... If not... try cleaning the pins and the slot... Thats all i can say.

i it onboard video that has an issue could be a bad ram stick. if it a gpu can be bad ram on the gpu or bad power. if your using an older power supply download hardware info see if the 12v rail is holding. on 3d guru they have ram tests for gpu to see if any of the gpu ram is bad. under flash try turning on/off hardware acceleration see if anything changes.

Thanks for the quick replies. This is a replacement gpu, also temporary. my xfx 7850 died recently. Did not have much money so bought a gt750 to use until taxes. Have had nothing but problems since installing it. The power supply is a antec 520. But the graphics card I am currently using does not require a power connector. I am just beginning to suspect it is a problem specifically with card itself.
