So as of lately I've been streaming overwatch to twitch and have noticed that OBS even when I set it's process priority to high is using an insane amount of my CPU, I would use the built in Nvidia encoder however I notice some lag with that even with my 1080. Currently my PC specs are as follows:

CPU: i5 4690k OC'd to 4.2 GHz
Mobo: MSI Z97s SLI Krait Edition
GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 SC
RAM:16gb ddr3 ram
Storage:250gb SSD
2tb Barracuda HDD
Power: 750w corsair RM750i PSU

My CPU is bottlenecking the system and my plan was to upgrade to an Asus x99-A II Mobo and the i7 2800k and whatever DDR4 ram is cheapest. I'm just uncertain whether or not this CPU is going to be able to handle what I want from it, any recommendations?

I tried using OBS for recording game play but the quality was so bad and CPU usage was always very high. Since then I use NVIDIA share, something which is available on all pascal GPU's. The quality of the video is amazing and CPU usage isn't as high as OBS. Try streaming from this, and limit your fps to 150 or something using 'fps_max 150' in console.

The CPU you currently have doesn't need to be upgraded in my opinion, but that's your choice.
