I was wondering how I could remove thermal paste. I am planning on getting the best overclock I can get. I know rubbing alcohol would work. Is there a better substance that can remove thermal paste even more efficiently than rubbing alcohol? Maybe something you could pick up at a store and is under $10? For some reason, I don't think putting alcohol on my CPU/ Liquid Cooler is such a good idea. Is it just me?
Thanks for your help!

Isopropyl alcohol, $2, at the store. Preferably 90%.
There is no magic substance that would be 'better'.

(yes, it's just you...:) )

How much 'removal fluid' did you get for 10 quid?
What is the main ingredient in it?

I got 3.5 grams of arctic silver 5 and you get 2 30ml bottles of fluid one that dissolves the paste so it wipes away with ease and the other removes the oily substances that are left after cleaning and makes the surface very shiny. I think the removal bottle is citrus as I could smell a fruity smell I applied it so it is crucial you use bottle 2 afterwards and in the website they recommend using bottle 2 after using any substance used to clean the cpu
