Computer crashing (mainly after loading screens) and other oddities. Motherboard or HDD?

I have a custom build PC, some of which is around 4 years old (motherboard, RAM, CPU, and one harddrive), and some of which is brand new (GPU, SSD).

Recently I've been having an issue where if my computer goes to sleep, there's probably a 50% chance that upon waking it up, it no longer recognizes my secondary (mechanical) harddrive. My OS is on my SSD so PC still works, but most of my data is stored on the mechanical one. A restart fixes this issue until the next sleep.

Last night and today, 4 times now, the computer has completely frozen (non responsive to any inputs what so ever) while playing World of Warcraft, always either during or directly after a loading screen.

I've been thinking maybe my secondary harddrive is starting to decay and just isn't working well anymore? That said, I have also noticed that some USB ports on the back of my computer do not work properly. Sometimes they will power accessories but not transfer data to/from the PC. Sometimes things like my keyboard will work but the lighting on it will not until I unplug/replug it in several times. Perhaps it could be a motherboard issue?

I did recently install a gtx 1070, replacing a 970, but if anything I believe that actually draws less power so I'm not sure why it would make any of these issues worse.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? I'd appreciate it very much!

Your card could be pulling to much power on the 12v rails upon resuming from a cold boot(hibernation) or sleep. This is everything trying to turn on at once, All the motor drives flick on, this mass pulls energy off the 12v rails as motor drives in hard drisks are powered via 12v.

To little power, your drive cant spin up properly to speed, your card could be lagging everything causing a system wide voltage drop. This voltage drop will instantly freeze your PC and all components.

Thank you so much for a quick response! You mean the graphics card right? I had the harddrive issue (not being recognized after sleep) before I switched out the card, but at the same time it wasn't a problem for the whole duration of time I had my old card, only the last month or two. The new card "should" require less power too, but you never know. If this was the cause, would a higher watt power supply be the solution? I think mine is 550w.

Just as a followup, I checked on my PSU and its a 550w that (supposedly at least) pushes up to 650w when needed. I haven't had any issues with it but it is a few years old. Is there a way to test if this is the issue? If it's still working fine I'd hate to replace it.

On the side of your PSU, can you list me your 12V amperage?

also please POST PICTURES of the msi afterburner readings, if you have a monitoring program please post pictures of the temps, voltages, on all the CPU ram and GPU.

Please post your ATX voltages aswell, This can be found in a program like speccy. I just need to see the voltages on your motherboard.

Here is the information you requested (I hope this helps). The PSU info I just grabbed from the spec page on newegg. Thanks again for the help.
