I want something that can hold my storage 4x6tb raid 10 able to stream music and videos through PS3 or iphone. And keep backups of the different computers I have

The hard drives are on the way my setup before was just use it as a normal desktop and use the sharing for hdds available. But I would like to get a better setup and probably run the server

Solution
well you can build your own using FreeNAS or buy an OEM one, I suggest either QNAP or Synology. Going the FreeNAS route will probably be cheaper but you'll end up with a bigger case footprint and the extra hassle of having to deal with FreeNAS. QNAP and Synology are a bit more idiot proof.

I only use RAID1 (mirror) I've had RAID5 crash... $2700 recovery, it is sitting as a doorstop for now.

I do multi-mirror sets in ZFS. One system has 16GB and the other only 8GB of RAM. Both systems are fine. I run a Plex server from an older Dell i5 w/ 6GB of RAM. It serves up the media from one of the FreeNAS systems at full 1080P nicely. I only use it internally so I'm not sure what I'd get outside my network for streaming...

This is what you want to do:

Have an extra external backup synced to it for when it fails on you... As a precaution.
