Solution
Ok well you could pick up an lga 1151 board for an i5 6400 for about $40-50 and 8gb DDR4 RAM for the same price.

If you wanted to put an i5 4690 in with your current lga 1150 board it'd cost about $175 and you could use DDR3 RAM, which you may or may not already have.

Both would fit in your case and perform to about teh same level.
Your current motherboard is a mATX, which means to stay with that form factor you need to get another mATX (micro ATX).

I don't know what I5 you're talking about, for all i know it would work just fine in your existing motherboard. What is the model of I5 you are looking at?
