How to use y-cruncher in ubuntu?

I downloaded two .tar.gz packages

y-cruncher v0.7.1.9466-static.tar.gz
y-cruncher v0.7.1.9466-dynamic.tar.gz

I am new to linux and I don't know how to proceed. Which package should I use? I have ubuntu 14.04 and 16.04 (both LTS)

skittle
open terminal untar (like zip file) then run the file

Code: 
tar -xf y-cruncher v0.7.1.9466-static.tar.gz
cd  y-cruncher v0.7.1.9466-static
./y-cruncher
