Will my motherboard downgrade the speed or will it not work on DDR4 ram?

This is my system. I have:
i5 6500, Gigabyte 1060 3gb, EVGA 500w, and an MSI H110M Grenade motherboard. The motherboard only supports DDR4 at 2133 Mhz. For Christmas I got Corsair Vengeance LPX ram clocked at 2400 Mhz. Amazons policy is that you get a full refund if you do not open anything. Will the motherboard downgrade the memory or will it not work? I know there's other articles on this but I can't find and article about DDR4 ram.

Solution
The motherboard will only run the RAM as fast as the motherboard will allow. Always. If the motherboard can only run 2133, but you bought 2400 mhz, the motherboard will just run it at 2133. No, it won't break anything. This has applied to RAM since the beginning of consumer DDR memory, I think.
