Hey guys,

my specs are:
G1 GTX 1070 OC
i5 6600k 3.5 GHz (and I will OC in the nearest future)
Kingston HyperX 8 GB DDR4 RAM 2133MHz

With highest settings and V-Sync disabled I can barely get 70-80 FPS, and I see videos on youtube with inferior specs getting HUNDREDS (literally over 400) of frames.

I can run Elder Scrolls Online on Ultra like a charm, how come a game like Minecraft eats so much power?

Any advice appreciated, thanks

70-80 FPS is fine! Anything more than 60 FPS is great imo. unless you are lagging I wouldn't worry about it. Although, it might be because it is running minecraft through the CPU. Your computer doesn't see minecraft as a game as Java is not used for that usually.

To force the GPU to use it, go to the NVidia Control Panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Program Settings -> Add.
Add Java and then click Apply. It will now run on your GTX 1070. This should spead it up, I would also turn V-Sync on, your computer can definitely handle it.

Actually, it appears to be a matter of poor optimisation, since I'm already running on my GPU. On v1.11.2 I have just over 60 fps while on v1.11 I have 400+
