Good Day,

I have just recently upgraded to the asus z170 premium motherboard and also 6 new corsair ML fans. I installed the new mobo and then I reinstalled windows 10 to remove all the old drivers from my previous motherboard. I also wanted to start fresh with my new system upgrade. Then I installed Asus Ai suite iii to control all my case fan ,but then the software had so many issues that I had to unistall it ,but it wouldn't let me eventually I reinstalled windows again to fix the problem. Now I am using the bios Qfan software in the bios to set the fans. Now the problem I have is as follows my i7 6700k cpu idle temp is around 25 c ,but as soon as I open chrome browser my cpu temp spikes to 45 c then the fans also go up and then after 2 or 3 sec it goes back to idle temp and the fans go back to normal speed. I have upgraded my mobo bios and all drivers everything is up to date. Also in the bios I had to set each fan to PWM mode otherwise the led light in the fans would be dim when on pwm mode the led run at 100%. Should I reinstall Asus ai suite 3 and take the chance as the software is very buggy and cause windows errors to happen and also cause my pc to run very slow. I have tried for the past 2 weeks to fix this issue no luck please could someone help me.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

I've also had similar issues with both AI Suite III and temp spikes with I7 6700k.
The temp spikes seem to be a common "thing" (not sure if one can call it an issue) with the 6700k. I googled 6700k and temp spikes and found many posts/threads describing such issue. Most knowledgeable people seem to think it is not a big deal to have those temp spikes with minimal load, such as opening web browsers/file folders...etc.
I've had an I7 3770 for about 3 years, being OCD, I've always monitored my PC with some sort of PC monitoring software and had never observed any of the temp spikes described by other users of 6700k (me being one of them).
So, is it inherent to the 6700k and it's just the way this CPU works? I guess it may be, like I said, no experienced PC enthusiasts seemed to be concerned with it.

I had posted about it at the ROG forum a few weeks ago: here.
