I installed a new Graphics Card and now my computer is crashing and restarting randomly.

I have an Inspiron 3487 that I installed an EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 ti into, switching over from integrated graphics. I clean installed the drivers and made sure the power settings were in check. It recommends 1080p, 1920 x 1080 resolution but I prefer to run 1360 x 768 resolution as it works better for my TV screen.

Currently the computer randomly crashes and restarts and I don't know what to do.

It has a 300W power supply
8GB DDR3 RAM
Core i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz
CPI Express 2.0
1 TB HDD

Can anyone explain to me how to fix this or what the problem might be?

I looked it up through EVGA because I suspected the same thing and it said this card requires at least a 300W power supply. Since mine is exactly 300W could that be causing the problem?

It depends. Not all output is the same - I've seen "300W" PSUs with designs so old that they only have 168W on the +12V rail. If you supplied more information about your PSU, we could provide a better answer.

What information would you need? I'm not very knowledgeable on all this but I'm sure I could provide any information you need. It is the stock PSU for the Inspiron 3847 after all.

Brand name computer manufacturers are well know for installing "Just enough" components. That computer being without a dedicated GPU had only enough. Another thing is that after few years PSUs start loosing some power so when you install more things it just doesn't give enough when you tip the scale.

On the PSU, there's usually a table with a bunch of numbers. If you look at +12V, that's what the most important because that's what the power-hungry components use. You'll see a lot of GPU requirements specify X amps on the +12V rail because that's where GPUs get their power from - and older PSU that is beefy on +5V doesn't really help there unless you're running a Pentium from 1998.

I think my issue here is the PSU because it says that across +12Va and =12Vb is only 216W and above that it says +3.3V and +5V is 90W together.

The exact format is as follows:
OUTPUT
+3.3V /10A
+5V /13A
+12Va /17A
+12Vb /9A
+12V /0.3A
+5Vaux /2A

Am I missing any necessary information? This is a learning process for me as well so if there's anything I'm missing or need to know please inform me.
