So, i decided to build a pc and i got my dad to help me and everything went well until we tried to turn it on. The entire system came to life all 3 fans were working including the one on the graphics card. However we couldn't see anything on the monitor we left it for about 5 minutes and still nothing.

So we checked all the cables were plugged in properly however we had quite a few cables left over which we didnt need including the pci-e cable.

After about 30 mins of checking there was still nothing appearing on the screen including no sounds.

So we tried taking the graphics card out and it went into bios and we could see it on the monitor. I cant work out why and desperatly need some help!

Solution
start pc with card inserted in your PCI, but plug your monitor to the motherboard video port
go to bios and look up the video settings, change it from internal to smart or just to external, save and reboot,
when rebooting to bios, power off
swap cable to internal video card, power on.
does it work ?
