So I recently did a reinstall of windows because I had some problems with activating windows. But I noticed a lot of bad performance in games like GTA V and Fallout 4, so I ran a benchmark and everything is perfect except for my CPU, wich scored a 19,3%. I looked up some sollutions (and still looking up some right now) and downloaded a hotfix and a unparking program and got the same results in the benchmark, I have a 970 gaming mobo and a Msi GTX 970 (wich went through the benchmark without any problems)

How bad is performance in those games? And what benchmark did you get a 19.3% in? You just listed two very cpu heavy games. You will see frame dips below 60fps with the fx 6300, especially in fallout 4. I have an FX 6350 at 4.7ghz and it performs alright for a 5 year old cpu but I don't expect stellar performance especially in games like fallout 4 and gta v, I do get dips below 60 at times.

In Fallout 4 I maybe get 40fps in really open area's and places with alot of building it gets really choppy and goes to 10-20fps. I used UserBenchMark, if you know any other and better ones I will try them out.

What quality settings and resolution are you on? Over 60hz monitor? My son had a AMD Phenom x6 which is close to the speed the FX 6300 is at and would have FPS drops even in games like CS GO. I just bought him an i3-6100 and those FPS issues went away.

I'd say the CPU is the issue for you, try lower settings.

Forget about the benchmark scores, that just shows that you are in the lower 20% of benchmarks which is normal for that CPU since they are comparing it to i5 and i7 CPUs and the FX 6300 is not as good as even a new i3 in many cases.

The benchmark I used compares it to other users that have the same or similar rig, and the average score for my CPU was around 50% while mine only scored 19%. And before I reinstalled windows I had almost everywhere 60+ fps in fallout 4 but since the reinstall of windows it's been going downhill. I could overclock my CPU but I have no experience in overclocking whatsoever and afraid that I might damage something important

when I open BIOS settings mobo is 29C and CPU 27C,, took a screenshot https://snag.gy/fLNOSz.jpg of my Hardware Monitor window when I only had Skype (not on call) Steam and 3 tabs of Chrome open. And this is Hardware Monitor screenshot with Fallout 4 open https://snag.gy/CKiEzl.jpg,

edit: I watched a tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQXQC5fmlH8) on how to overclock my CPU with the same mobo, and i noticed that his CPU Voltage is 1,480V, while when I looked at mine it was only 0,840V. This might be the problem here, just need to know if I'm right
