GPU not waking up after failed sleep mode

My computer has had shutdown issues for awhile. But while it was in sleep mode in Windows 7, the circuit breaker got tripped and now when I go to boot up the computer, no signal is sent out of either the GPU or motherboard(presumably because the GPU is present). I have tried a hard shutdown via holding the power button for 6 seconds and the reset button on the motherboard.

The computer runs windows 7 and the cpu is an Intel i7 3770k, GPU is gtx 580 1.5gb vram. Recent software has been installed on the machine but has shutdown properly before and is known to be safe programs.

Any help would be appreciated and it would be preferable to not have to remove the GPU to get the motherboard built in graphics going.

Edit: The system still outputs sound through the speakers and Windows does start.
