How do I delete windows 7 from my HDD?

So for Christmas I got a 525GB ssd for me to put my operating system and steam games on. So I have cloned everything to my ssd and have deleted the things that I don't need on my ssd but do not know how to delete the windows 7 files without deleting my operating system. Or removing the operating system without formatting the hard drive itself.

If you did a 1 for 1 clone then your OS should be on the SSD. Try booting with only the new SSD attached and if everything seems ok then wipe the old drive clean. You cant really just remove the OS from it although could try splitting it into two partitions, put the files you want on the 2nd partition, wiping the first partition then reversing the process.
