Hello there and sorry for my english guys.

I have the gpu Gtx 970 gaming 1 here is my problem, i got one 2k monitor (ASUS) that is connected HDMI to HDMI and i have also LG TV ULTRA 4K with DISPLAYPORT to HDMI, i want to get the maximun resolution with extend mode but when i do this my MONITOR goes 2560x1440 and TV 1080p when i connect monitor via display port and TV via HDMI to HDMI i get 4k on my TV and 1080p on my MONITOR can anyone help ?

Solution

Yeah, that's another passive adapter, thats why you got the same problem.

But the monitor doesn't support DVI anyways so you're outta luck there.

The active displayport adapter is what you need.

https://postimg.org/image/65z569qu9/ Monitor Via HDMI TO HDMI 2.0

I was having one 5m HDMI TO HDMI cable and someone told me to buy a 5m Displayport TO HDMI for my TV to get 4K (but i have the sameproblem)
but from your side you say that i must buy adapter for hdmi to displayport am i right ?

Yes, the reason is a Displayport to HDMI cable is a PASSIVE adapter, and can't support the higher resolutions you want.

Does your 2k monitor only support HDMI? DVI may be an easier choice if you only want 2k video (but no sound) from the monitor.
