I have a intel I7 3770k CPU and 1000W power supply and want to up grade my GPU. I mainly play Total war Warhammer and have a $300 budget. What should I get?

That gameare not graphically demanding, but more CPU. Your i7 should be able to handle it. As for your GPU, I will stick with a GTX 1060 3GB for around $200. You can get a 6GB, but the CPU may hold you back in more demanding games. However, it will allow you to bump up settings to max in 1080p.

Honestly, your i7 is good enough for a few more years. Maybe at the end at 2018, you will need to upgrade. If you get a Zen cpu from AMD, it will probably be on par with what you have no. But that means replacing the motherboard, and getting a Windows key as well.

Yes, it will work just fine. In fact, here are Gigabyte's words:

1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16)
(The PCIEX16 slot conforms to PCI Express 3.0 standard.)
* For optimum performance, if only one PCI Express graphics card is to be installed, be sure to install it in the PCIEX16 slot.
